Miramar Beach

Community Guide: Miramar Beach

With the wide variety of enticing vacation destinations along the Gulf Coast, it can feel overwhelming when deciding which community will offer you and your family the most ideal offerings. The growing popularity of the area has attracted unprecedented visitors in recent years, and it is undoubtedly due to the diverse attractions these nearby communities share. Perhaps the most diverse in its offerings is Miramar Beach, where visitors of all ages flock to enjoy the shimmering beaches, lively restaurants & bars, and arcades, as well as a plethora of outdoor adventures.

What makes Miramar Beach so optimal as a vacation destination is the one-of-a-kind attractions and the incredible proximity to nearby communities, including Destin, 30A, Sandestin, The Village of Baytowne Wharf, and many other thriving vacation destinations. There is no shortage of scenery, activities, and good eats in this little pocket of paradise, which is one of the many reasons for the flourishing real estate industry in the area. It isn’t rare for vacationers to visit and leave with an investment property or second home in their portfolio once they fall in love with the beautiful Miramar Beaches.

Whether you’re looking for a quick weekend getaway, a snowbird vacation, or to relocate permanently, we’ve got everything you need to know to make the most of the magic of Miramar Beach.

Where Is Miramar Beach?

Nestled between 30A and Destin, Miramar Beach’s proximity to nearby communities is one of its most appreciated features. Located in the panhandle of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico, this coastal community sits primely among popular communities such as Sandestin and Santa Rosa Beach. Larger cities such as Panama City and Pensacola are a short 1.5-hour drive away in either direction, allowing for day trips to explore the surrounding metropolitan cultures. The community has coastlines that face the Gulf Of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay, making it a breathtaking destination for visitors to the area.

Where To Stay?

If you’re planning to visit or even invest in property at Miramar Beach, it goes without saying that you should try to look as near to the beach as possible. However, since the width of Miramar Beach is relatively thin (just a few miles in depth), you won’t ever be too far away from a day in the sand. Whether you are looking for a highrise condo or a single-family home, there are property options with amenities, including private pools, EV charging stations, and more. Outdoor Activities

The gulf coast is known for its crystal clear waters and soft white sands, and this incredible feature is highlighted within Miramar Beach’s community limits. But the heavenly sands aren’t just for the beach bums in the group; there are many outdoor experiences at your fingertips. One of the best ways to go offshore is on a Banana Boat ride, where your blow-up vessel is pulled behind a USCG Licensed Captain along the beach. Get wet and wild with your friends as you cruise the coastline and hit some waves along the way. Companies such as Sunshine Water Sports offer this activity and other adventurous offerings such as parasailing, pontoons, dolphin cruises, and even snorkeling. Pricing varies depending on what activity you sign up for, but you won’t be disappointed by any of these maritime adventures during your stay at Miramar Beach.

Family Friendly Attractions

With all of the outdoor adventures at your fingertips in Miramar Beach, you will want some rare moments of air-conditioned fun as well. If you ask us, there is no better family bonding than some competitive laser tag, and Thrills Laser Tag is the perfect spot for a friendly family competition. This incredible facility has an immersive experience called The Temple Of Doom, containing 15-foot cobra pillars where guests navigate around unique structures and mazes. There are different game formats you can choose from and different point strategies, so bring your A-game when you enter The Temple Of Doom. Strap on your laser vest and head into this premiere competitive playground for an adventure you don’t want to miss.

While taking a break from the Florida heat, head over to the arcade inside Thrill’s as well. Coined as ‘The Emerald Coast’s Most Thrilling Arcade’, the facility has games ranging from BNA Hoops to Jurassic Park. Cutting-edge technology stores all scores on a single card, so you don’t have to worry about losing strings of paper tickets. Whether your hosting a child’s birthday party or simply looking for some afternoon fun, you’ll have everything you need at this indoor adventure facility.

Delicious Eats & Cocktails

When it comes to coastal cuisine, the Emerald Coast has some of the freshest seafood you could ask for. You don’t need to look farther than The Surf Hut for a beachfront feast. The waterfront views may be what entices you to walk inside the hut, but it is fresh from the Gulf seafood that will keep you coming back during your visit. Order from their vast menu of entrees, including crab legs, fish tacos, blackened shrimp, and even prime rib. Wash it all down with a 30A ale as you enjoy the incredible views and watch the children play in the outdoor beach area.

Another beachfront restaurant oasis is Pompano Joe’s Seafood House, featured on The Travel Channel as one of the world’s best beach restaurants! Don’t let the name fool you; this seafood house serves more than just fish. The menu contains everything from Cuban Sandwiches to cheeseburgers for those who are seafood averse.

If you’re craving a nightcap after dinner, we recommend Vin’tij Food & Wine, known for its seasonal wine lists and desserts (try the flourless chocolate torte, you won’t be disappointed!). The restaurant has been a local favorite for over two decades and has garnered loyal patrons throughout the years.
